Dr. John Gilbert was instrumental in forming the Biofeedback Association of North America, the Natural Therapies Association of North America, and the Medical Biofeedback Association and Credentialing Board. John was the founder of the Journal of Neurotherapy which is the leading publication in that industry and the Journal of Medical Biofeedback which we plan to make the leading publication in biofeedback.
Dr. Gilbert founded the Academy of Certified Neurotherapists (ACN) which merged with BCIA several years ago. He also founded the Neurotherapy Certification Board (NCB) and the Peak Performance Certification Board (PPCB) both of which merged with the Biofeedback Certification Board (BCB) to form NBCB several years ago. He is the former executive director of NBCB. NBCB merged into NTCB in 2007. Dr. Gilbert founded the Natural Therapies Certification Board (NTCB) and the Natural Therapies Certification Board Europe. He is the past president of NTCB. He currently serves as the volunteer chairman of their ethics committee. John founded the QEEGT certification board which still functions as an independent certification body.
Dr. Gilbert has no financial interest in any of the above organizations and receives no remuneration from them. He is certified in aromatherapy, biofeedback, neurotherapy, QEEG and reflexology. He was previously certified and practiced in homeopathy, naturopathy, peak performance and stress management. He is currently the president of the Natural Therapies Research Board and actively engaged in research.
He is a former licensed insurance agent, adjuster and broker in Colorado where he also taught insurance for several years. He is a past underwriter, executive and CEO of a small insurance company in Colorado. He is a licensed spiritual health coach.
